Night cycle at Punggol Promenade.

Location: Sengkang/Punggol Promenade Park

Hi guys! This is gonna be the first time i'm posting something other than fashion photography. A few reasons why I did. Well, #1 things haven't been going good for the past few days Just feeling reeeally down for some reason you may realise later during this post. #2 I got a new 18-200 vr nikkor lens. #3 bored.

11.30pm. Grabbed my camera, tripod and bicycle.

Took the lift down and headed towards the park, first thing I see was this overhead bridge and I thought hey, maybe I should start here. Nothing much here, the bus stop on the right is where I take bus 50 to school every morning, and this overhead bridge with a HUGE flight of stairs (much exaggeration but that's how i look at it early in the morning with my eyes still half closed) serves as a crossing and my early morning exercise.....

Also this brings back alot of memories as a kid 10 years back. Before this road was open, everybody around Sengkang, families, friends or whatever, would come to this particular road to roller blade, cycle, fly kite, etc. Anyway, it's a huge space and I wish they did not open this road. Used to come down here alot with my family, lots of funny moments I can remember here.

"Do you remember when, we first met? i sure do" Do you remember - Jack Johnson. Song that i'm addicted to now and it's a really sad song to me thinking that I will not be able to sing that to her in 18 years time. This song reminds me of this part of punggol somehow, don't really wanna/know how to explain why. I'm not a very expressive kind of person, last thing that i'll excel in is the drama club.

This bridge connects from punggol (where im standing) to pasir ris farmway which is at the other end of the bridge. I use to come here alot with my buddies Gabriel and Bryan, we would cycle to a mini water catchment area just cross the bridge, to lepak, talk cock sing song. Mosquitos were a big problem btw, ruining our bloody lepak session. That's one the reasons why we stopped going there.

Did I mention how lowly lit and creepy cycling around this park at this hour? You have no idea. Hardly anybody was around. The photos look bright obviously because it was taken with a long exposure, I think it was maxed out at 30 seconds. It was as dark and scary as Satan's anus, not to mention I watched Conjuring the night before. And at that point, If my mind would stop thinking about the exorcist's face, that'd be great. OH it's 7th month btw too.....

This was much deeper into the park where nobody in the right mind would come here at this time. The dark parts of the photos were actually almost pitch dark. But I really really love this place in the early evening. Why? Quiet and full of coniferous trees . I have a thing for coniferous trees, so beutifoo. But not in the night i swear, creepy ass looking trees. Maybe soon i'll take pictures of this place early in the evening, you'll see that it's really pretty.

So decided to take the other route home. Nope. Not going back there. Also I had a... bad experience in the other part of punggol park about 5 years back. About 1am in the night, my friend PY and I decided that we put our testosterones to the test and cycle into this well known part of the park that is known to be "haunted". So cycle in we did, 5mins into that area, there was a huge black cloth, about floor to ceiling high, that crossed us about 20m ahead. I jammed my brakes and realised that PY braked at the same time as well, I looked at him, he looked at me. We saw that same damn thing. Promised to never go back there again and the end. Shot was taken on an overhead bridge, looking down TPE, towards SLE.

Well that's about it! Cycling and taking photos in the night really cleared my mind from what's been bothering me for the past few days, maybe weeks.. at least for now. 3.06am, gotta SLEEP, school tomorrow. Goodnight.
